The tomahawks and axes pictured here are examples of past ones that I've made.  Any of these can be made to order.  I am currently running a backlog of 10 to 12 months to fill an order.  Handles can be made from hickory, ash or maple.  I do not guarantee handles against breakage as how you use them is out of my control.  If your main concern is strength go with hickory, ash is a good second choice for strength.  Maple makes a very pretty handle and can be very strong as well but it isn't as tough as hickory.  I have personally used many hawks with maple handles with no problem.  Just know the limitations of the wood handle and the size of the hawk and use common sense.
